Pop Tarts
Make your pie crust or follow the instructions on the pie crust package to defrost. Homemade pie crust will taste better, but store bought makes a great shortcut and they’ll still taste delicious.
pie crustIn a large bowl, combine cream cheese and powdered sugar, mix until smooth. Add vanilla extract and mix well. Add oreos and fold.
2 ⅔ oz cream cheese⅕ cup powdered sugar⅕ teaspoon pure vanilla extract1 ⅓ oreosRoll or lay out the first pie crust. Mark about six rectangles 1.5” by 3” (see photos for how I did that). Place 2-3 tablespoons of filling into the middle of each marked rectangle, leaving ½” border all the way around.
Brush milk on the pie crust in between the filling. This will help seal the edges. Place rolled out second crust on top and press down in between the filling to seal in all the edges. Cut the rectangles out and trim the rounded edges.
½ tablespoons milkUse a fork to press down all the way around each pop tart to help seal the edges. Pierce each top with a fork to help let steam through. Arrange onto a baking sheet, leaving an inch or two gap between each pop tart.
Bake at 355°F (180°C) for 15-18 minutes, until edges and bottom are a light golden brown. Let cool on baking sheet or cooling rack until warm.
Chocolate Glaze
Whisk together powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Add milk a tablespoon at a time, mixing well until it forms a very thick but pourable consistency.
½ cups powdered sugar½ tablespoons cocoa powder1 ⅕ tablespoons milkUsing a tablespoon, spoon the icing on top of the pop tarts. Crumble oreo cookies on top of each pop tart and leave for a few minutes to set. Enjoy!
